All tutoring sessions are held virtually on Zoom. You must have zoom downloaded on the device your student will be using before their first lesson. You will be able to access the Zoom lesson meeting through a link on your parent/student portal calendar. You can sign up for a zoom account for free here: https://zoom.us/signup
How is the price per session determined?
All sessions are charged at a flat rate of $25.00/session. Payments can be made from the Account & Invoices section in the student/parent portal or from your Student/Parent Portal Homepage.
How long do tutoring sessions last?
I try to adhere to a precise 30 minute window in order to keep session length predictable for families, but a session may run slightly over the 30 minute mark from time to time.
Can you guarantee progression to a certain reading level, test score, etc.?
Each child learns things at his or her own pace. It may take one student more or less time for something to 'click' than it takes another. Additionally, progress looks different for every student. This process and time period is unpredictable. For this reason, it is impossible to guarantee any certain level achievement, grades, or scores.
How will I know if tutoring is 'working'?
Student success in tutoring presents itself differently in each child. Some children may become more confident, interested, and engaged at school and during homework time. Some students may bring home higher test scores or letter grades, while others progress to further reading levels.
How often should my child receive tutoring?
It is recommended that pre-k and elementary age children meet with their tutor twice per week on a consistent basis for 3-4 months. This level of consistency and frequency is the best way to achieve long lasting success.
